Shantung Silk for Mama Patch Ring Sling? This is the fabric I have been looking for. A cotton blended, this beautiful fabric is very pretty, and even more washable than real silk brocades.

For centuries silk has had a reputation as a luxurious, elegant and sensuous fabric. Silk is one of the oldest textile fibers known to man. Silk is also the strongest natural fiber. Silk retains its shape, drapes well, caresses the figure, and shimmers with a luster all its own. No wonder many swear by it using this beautiful fabric to make their baby slings.

See more of what Jan Andrea has to say about fabric for sling.

New Collection: De Pastel Shantung Silk Ring Sling

De Pastel comes in 3 colors. Neatly embroidered only at the borders, De Pastel is made of 2 matching shades of fabric, side by side. It has a V-shape pointed and shorter tail, creating a more feminine look to its wearer. Daddies interested in this beautiful fabric can also use this sling, by twisting the tail around the rings, creating a more macho look.

See more at www.mamapatch.com for more details of De Pastel collection.

De Pastel (Celery) Ring Sling

After wearing Ring Sling with long tails, I decided to test some sling with shorter tails. Using matching light color tones of Shantung Silk, De Pastel is designed with a pointed tails and light embroidery at the borders.

Surprisingly, some friends commented my RS looks better with shorter length. As oppose to longer tail, shorter tail gives a neater and fresher look too. And I personally feel it is so much safer as I do not have to worry about the tail of my sling get caught into the going up escalator. What do you think? Do you prefer shorter or longer tails when you wear your sling?
