Floral prints on Cloth Pads

regular_floral

I just love these lovely prints myself! If you love flannel pads and hate the noticeable stains on your pad surface, perhaps pads with floral prints will suit you best!

I can’t stop myself from frequently shopping for latest fabric in town. If time permits (as long as hubby is willing to help to keep an eye on the kids, or as long they are not *SCREAMING*, I will spend some time walking into the fabric shop, checking out to see what’s new. Normally I would not come out empty handed as I will surely catch something exciting, be it for Mama Patch or my kid’s projects.

Improvised with a better water barrier backing and added terry layer, Mama Patch Regular pads can absorb more than before. It can last for longer hours before the next change. Although we can create thicker pads, it would be very much a problem to get them dried when sunlight is limited during the rainy season.

*Usage:

With pretty matching color snaps and no messy insert, our All-In-One (AIO) flannel pads is easy to use. Just snap and go. Just a note: Remember to change more frequently on your heaviest day, although we suggest not use more than 3 hours (depending on individual’s flow) to prevent leakage.

*Care Tips:

  1. First, rinse pad until water runs clear.
  2. Fold, snap up and store in wetbag (if you are away from home)
  3. Soak in a small pail and add a few drops of vinegar (as disinfectant) and baking soda (or even salt) if stain persist. Hand wash for longer lasting or toss into washing machine with your undies. Remember, DO NOT SCRUB your cloth pad.

Afraid of not getting the inner part cleaner than the surface? Check this picture out from my cut up pad.

What is special about Mama Patch Modern Cloth Pad

1. Contour Stitched/Embroidered for better absorbancy and leakage to the side

2. Soakers only at Rm8

Instead of changing pad regularly, just add a soaker on top of your cloth pad for extra absorbancy. On lighter days, they work great as panty liners (however it is not recommended to be used as liners as it might move around easily. Although you have to make sure holding onto them during removal of your undies to prevent fall)

2. Mama Patch Liners/ Soakers are also reversible (snaps usable on both side). Just turned onto the fresh surface when you need to refresh.

3. Soft label tag (for all Regulars and Night Pads). Pretty useful to hook your clean pad on the hanger so you do not have to worry about falling them from your hand while changing.

How cloth helps with menses problem

Nothing can be happier for me when I hear good news on how cloth actually helps to improve menses problem. This is what I received from one of my reseller yesterday.

“hi chin nee. last week i receive a new testimony from a fren. she claim that she is not using mamapatch pantyliner anymore. she mention that her discharge is totally gone after using it 4 almost 3 month. she is among of my 1st customer. And last week she place an order of regular n night pad 4 her n her sister too! she want me to thank you 4 ur great product. i hope we can share this great news with others. thanks.”

And another message from herself (who is also a user):

“My menses does not last more than 5 days nowadays. My friend said the same thing. Maybe it is coincident. but what ever it is.. both r us r happy with it!”

I personally experience the above too. Not only my menses are very much lighter than before (I only converted to cloth about less than a year), the period is shorten too. No more blood clots, no more bad cramps. Surprisingly enough but I am glad that I no longer need to be tortured with monthly discomfort during my period.

You should see how surprise the disposable pads promoters were when I told them I no longer need to buy any pads as I have converted to cloth 100%, even on my outing. You will be surprise to find that cloth is actually so easy to use once you know how many hours a piece of cloth can last yourself before you need a fresh change to prevent leaking.

Disclaimer: Although Mama Patch Modern Cloth Pads comes with a breathable water barrier layer, one should remember to change ON TIME, depending on the heaviness of individual flow to prevent leakage.

Right way of washing your Flannel Cloth Pads

IMG_2934

Since I have been these pads for almost a year (I even throw them into the washing machine), I was quite alarm when I received feedback from 2 customers on how the laminated waterproof backing on their cloth pads has peeled off.  Thanks for sharing this useful info, girls!

See picture above: Laminated fabric peeling off

Light rubbing (cloth on cloth) with hands  if you must BUT REMEMBER, PLS DO NOT SCRUB!

1. On the flannel surface

I tried scrubbing on the surface of the flannel but instead of removing stains, I made it worst. The texture became rough and the surface pills. Although it still feels the same during wearing, but I hate it as it looks ugly.

2. On the waterproof backing

As we use laminated fabric for waterproofing (although tough enough to withstand the spinning of washing machine), this fabric certainly cannot be scrubbed.

Also do remember to read the Washing Instruction carefully on the packaging label before you use your cloth pads.

How to wash:
1. Rinse (squeeze your pads under running COLD water until water runs clear)
2. Soak if stain (with light soapy water/ tap cold water)
3. Wash together with your clothing (although it is machine washable, you can also hand wash for a longer life span)

New designs for the Modern Cloth Pads

I cannot believe it took me so long to post update on this blog of mine.

Evolution in Mama Patch Modern Cloth Pads has taken place over the months since launching and I am getting very excited each time I design these pads. Some improvements made to the pads:

  • Slim cut look on the wings
  • Waterproof backing even on the wings (for regular and night pads)
  • Colorful water barrier backing for the pads (for regular and night pads)
  • Thicker Night Pads (maxi 11″ and 13″ Super wide)

Some colorful pictures to entertain you on your happy weekend…

Candy color cloth reversible liners

Instead of plain looking cloth liners, we have also a batch of fun color liners (see the different colorful matching wings-only while stock last)

Over the months, I see that plain colors are preferred than printed wings. Customers prefer striking color backing for the pads

Lush pink Regulars with sweet purple backing

Red hot Regulars and Nights

We no longer produce Night Slim pads as many prefer to pay just a little bit more for a maxi (thicker pad with terry layer for longer hours). Night maxi now available at the length of 11″ and 13″ Super Wide back

QC for the Cloth Pads

There they goes, always messing up my stuffs whenever my tailor friend deliver the fresh made cloth pads to me. They boys often start pulling out, piece by piece of the pads, color by color, design by design. This morning, my dear Korkor even took piece by piece to rub while enjoying the softness of the materials on his face, WAHAHAHA! (So now you can be sure of the softness of our cloth pads)

It is indeed fun to see the cloth pads scarttered all around on the floor since they are designed and made in many many soft tone colors. At least that could keep them occupied for a few months while I settle out the details and account with my tailor friend. Once we clear up and stack up the pads, I start to feel tired again, dreadfully looking at the high stacks as I have to find time again, to sit down for hours to apply snaps onto the wings of the pads (during the boy’s nap time).

All-In-One Modern Mama Pad

1…2…3….*taking a deep deep breathe*…phiew….

p1110522_1-2

Finally I get the Mama Patch Modern Cloth Pad launched after planning and working on it for many many months ago. You will not believe how relieve I feel to get things done especially when my learning-to-walk boys are sticking to me like super glue recently.

Mama Patch Modern Pads comes with assorted colors of flannel with matching printed wings / plain color wings. Made from layers of colorful flannel with a layer of breathable waterproof backing, these pads comes in 4 sizes.

Night Pads

These 11″ contour pads are generously sized with a 5″ at the back to prevent leakage at night. Layers of flannels are embroidered altogether for a better absorbancy at the top. Choose from our matching cute printed wings (or if you like it plain) with pair of matching colorful snaps on the wings for a better secure.

Regular Pads

More colors available for our regular pads. Just choose from our matching cute printed wings (also available in plain) with pair of matching colorful snaps on the wings for a better secure. To enjoy greater saving, use it together with our soakers so that you do not have to change pads that regularly.

Liners/Soakers

Since most disposable liners come without wings, I suppose they actually works great just without wings. Wings only comes handy to prevent movement (hmm….cloth pad hardly moves if we wear our undies securely), and falling INTO the loo (as it happened once to me!)

So in the end, I came up with 2 designs available so liners without wings that they can also be used as soakers for regular pads for better saving.

Label for the diapers

pink02

Woven damask label with FUSHIA Pink flower

purple02

Woven damask label with PURPLE Pink flower

One of the woven label will be chosen and used on Mama Patch future cloth diapers.  I somehow feel that FUSHIA looks too feminine. But I love the striking pink! Jess said RED even better.

How about you?

Mama Patch Cloth Diaper

Yes, you see it correctly. I am so greedy, aren’t I?
colors01

Finally, another part of my dream in my cloth walking journey!

Yes, these are some of the prototype of the very first Mama Patch Bamboo Velour Fitted Diapers! And I love looking at the rainbow colors whenever I look at the picture above.

At this moment, the diapers are not for sale yet, as I have to put them through some product testing by some experience Mama before I can even call them a Mama Patch Cloth Diaper. There will be 12 mothers in this project, working on this diaper in my first diaper project, so called “Design/Review Mama Patch Cloth Diapers”. If you are a cloth diapering Mama who has always prefer using *Fitted (*that requires also a cover), do hop onto this project to be a part of us.  However only I have only 12 diapers for testing, 2 from each color. If you wish to participate of read about the progress of the betterment of this diaper, do visit to us at the Diapers Asia Forum for more updates.
