Colorful Ditte – Bright orange NEW!
Although beige and red ditte are one of the best selling Mama Patch sling, I am so tempted to try more colors available. There are great colors like Off White, Bright Yellow and even Dark Blue. But I still love beige the best, which I was told no longer available in the market.
Ditte is made of 100% imported very sturdy cotton. This fabric gives a very good support to bigger babies and yet soft enough to ensure baby’s comfort while resting in Mummy’s nest. It certainly not easy to shop for great fabric, at least when it is labelled as Mama Patch Ring Sling. Off White Ditte will be the nearest color to Beige Ditte. It probably can bring out the Lusy Flower even better than Beige Ditte.
Wonder what wearers would think about wearing an off white ring sling.

Silk for Mama Patch Ring Sling again, how can I ever resist the beauty of these silk fabric?

Three pairs matching pastel to choose from

Beautiful embroidery borders
While shopping for new Shantung Silk color, I came across these beautiful fabric, the blended cotton silk, which is also label as Raw Silk. Unlike light weave raw silk scarf that I have, these blended raw silk has got a very strong weave, not to mention the beautiful strong color that you can see on my color chart below.
Comparison to the blended Shantung Fabric
Although it is a little bit thicker than the Shantung fabric I got earlier, it definitely feel very cooling to the skin. With a more distinguish weave appearance, this fabric is much more smoother and quite glossy. Very cottony feeling if you love the feel of cotton, and yet wants to enjoy the luxury of silk.
Matching with a pair of medium size aluminium rings (for easy adjustment) from slingrings.com, you can be assured that this beautiful fabric is very easy to adjust and holds your baby well in place.
But is silk slippery on the rings?
Tips: A very easy way to distinguish a good silk used is that it would not slip through although the aluminium rings.

I did not get to do the cradle carry because my almost 10 month old no longer allow me to cradle them anymore, unless they are asleep.

De Pastel (Celery) Ring Sling
After wearing Ring Sling with long tails, I decided to test some sling with shorter tails. Using matching light color tones of Shantung Silk, De Pastel is designed with a pointed tails and light embroidery at the borders.
Surprisingly, some friends commented my RS looks better with shorter length. As oppose to longer tail, shorter tail gives a neater and fresher look too. And I personally feel it is so much safer as I do not have to worry about the tail of my sling get caught into the going up escalator. What do you think? Do you prefer shorter or longer tails when you wear your sling?

Lusy Knit (Beige Ditte)
When I first set up Mama Patch website, I planned not to put any personal pictures on it. However something made me realise that a sling always look best and real only when it is worn on the wearer. Good that I share my pictures here with my boys by uploading them here in this blog instead of having it in the business site.
Personal description of Lusy Knit
Lusy knit comes in 3 colors, beige, red and dark purple. I received most enquiry for the beige as I think this color can easily match with any clothing, be it formal or informal. Beige Ditte is embellished with 3 crocheted flowers (2 on its tail and one on the baby’s back), this plain ring sling is really eye catching while Red Ditte and Purple Ditte has 3 flowers at its tail.
Fabric
Although Ditte is 100% cotton, it is a bit “linen” feel especially when it is still new. Unlike soft fabric, this tough Ditte like this makes the baby feels lighter as the weight can distribute better on the shoulder.
Shoulder type
Due to its canvas like texture, embroidery is really difficult. To make the 26″ witdth sling open up wider, the shoulder type was folded using accordian fold, from left and right to the center.
Update (August) : Improved with soft padding on shoulder for extra comfy
Overall, I simply love the way it looks!

Within a week of Mama Patch launching, 3 Mama Patch slings has been sold. Two of them are Denim Patch design.
Mama Patch Denim sling is made of strong and sturdy linen. When I shopped for fabric for my slings, I am so surprise to find that linen is so much more expensive than cotton. Hearing so much about using linen for baby sling making, I decided to try to make one. Although new fabric is crisp, a linen is definitely easy to be sewn and stitched.
When Yen showed me her work, I am so impressed with the outcome of the color and her embroidery. For our denim, we used colorful butterfly patches, with a matching golden thread. Pairing up with a pair of bronze aluminium rings, Denim Patch looks so vintage and cool. Certainly a great buy.
Facts about linen:
Made with fibers from the flax plant. One of the oldest fibers in use, used very often in hot climates. Excellent “wicking” properties, will absorb and release perspiration quickly. Strong and breathable. Downside: wrinkles very easily. Some weaves are stiff, others can be more flowing and comfortable.
Tips with linen
New linen is crisp. Some said hang dry and steam iron and just use them a LOT. Sit on them, sleep on them and just keep using them. Linen often takes a while to soften–but that’s what makes it strong, too. It’s just the nature of linen.
